YouTube Tutorial Gone Wrong: 16 YO Boy Injures Himself from Self-Constructed Gun in Bardiya

A 16-year-old boy sustained injuries from a self-made firearm he constructed after watching a YouTube video.

Sachin Tharu, residing in Ward No. 5 of Raptisonari Rural Municipality in Banke district, accidentally shot himself with the homemade gun. The incident occurred around 11 p.m., according to Bardiya District Police. Tharu fashioned the makeshift firearm using wood and metal, resembling a pistol, which he had loaded.

According to the report from Techpana, authorities attributed the mishap to a trigger malfunction, resulting in the firearm discharging and causing injuries to Tharu’s right thigh. He has been transferred to Nepalgunj Medical College for treatment, where his condition is described as stable.
