Wanna Use Tiktok Without VPN or DNS Change? Singha Durbar is the Go to Place

TikTok, the globally popular social media platform banned across Nepal, has managed to establish a presence within the premises of Singha Durbar, the central hub of the country’s government.

Despite the government’s decision to outlaw TikTok nationwide, Singha Durbar’s internal network has been found allowing uninterrupted access to the app. This revelation came to light during a recent episode of Sidha Kura Janata Sanga, where presenter Birendra Jairu showcased his mobile to access TikTok without the need for a VPN or DNS alteration. Critics of the ban argue that it encroaches upon the fundamental rights of citizens, particularly freedom of expression. As public discontent grows, reports suggest that TikTok officials are currently engaged in discussions with the government in an attempt to negotiate terms that align with Nepal’s regulatory framework.

Despite these talks, reports indicates that citizens are circumventing the ban through alternative means, thus spotlighting the challenges faced by the government in enforcing its prohibition. This unfolding situation continues to fuel the ongoing debate surrounding the delicate balance between digital freedom and regulatory oversight.
