During the SAFF Women’s Championship final held on Kartik 14 at Dasharath Stadium, where Prime Minister KP Oli was present, a controversial video was posted on TikTok by a vlogger currently residing in Japan. The video, which has since gone viral, included statements about the possibility of “killing the Prime Minister.”
The individual behind the video, identified as 20-year-old Ratan Karki, is in Japan on a student visa. According to police investigations, the Cyber Bureau is actively pursuing the case, with plans to initiate proceedings to bring Karki back to Nepal with the help of Interpol. A Cyber Bureau officer informed MWIN Media that a case is being registered, an arrest warrant is in the process, and Interpol will be contacted for assistance.
In his video, Karki allegedly stated, “While you all are watching football, I am watching something else. Today, it’s possible to kill him. If we form a group outside and surround him, he can be killed. If we don’t do it today, we’ll regret it greatly.” These comments were directed at the Prime Minister.
Additionally, the police are looking into recent anti-Prime Minister slogans. Among those involved were Narayan Bista and several others reportedly affiliated with the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), according to an officer involved in the investigation.
