Prakash Saput’s Well-Controversial Music Video Offends Newa Community

Prakash Saput who is mostly surrounded by controversy has once again been dragged into a new one regarding a four month old video.

Saput and Juna Bishwakarma’s behind the secene clip has gone viral from a music video shot in Basantpur Durbar, is going viral. They faced criticism for dancing on a well listed in the World Heritage List. The video is from four months ago, part of the ‘Kamaune Ni Ho, Ramaune Ni Ho’ music video.

Spectators recorded the scene, expressing concern as the well is a water source for the living goddess Kumari, seen as an attack on the Newa Community’s belief.

Some accuse Saput of creating controversy for song publicity. Saput has apologized, stating he followed the director’s instructions. The video was directed by Shankar BC.
