Students at the University of Agriculture and Forestry in Rampur Chitwan are expressing frustration, claiming that they are being made failed in exams on purpose. They have initiated a protest to highlight their upset, stating that they consistently face planned and arbitrary failures in the exams they confidently undertake. The students are demanding the examination board and the university allow them to review copies of their answer sheets.
To amplify their voices, the students have formed a struggle committee and initiated a relay fast alongside their protest. The Faculty of Agriculture recently released the results of the 5th term-end chance examination for the 2075/076 to 2079/80 batch, where a majority of students reportedly failed. The protesting students argue that despite their repeated fair attempts at the exams, there seems to be significant negligence in the evaluation process.
On the 22nd of Mangsir, affected students, along with various unions and organizations, raised concerns and presented demands related to the examination results. Three student organizations—Aneraswaviyu, Aneraswaviyu (Revolutionary), and Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh—issued a joint statement, declaring a protest due to the lack of assurance from responsible officials to address the problem.
The students are specifically calling for a mandatory re-examination of the same answer books, the right for students to review their answer sheets, and an immediate public release of suspended exam results for students in affiliated campuses. Ekraj Parajuli, the president of ANERASWAVIU, emphasized that the protest was initiated because their demands had not been acknowledged or addressed.
